While we provide a free copy of the Advantage local database engine with all downloads of our programs, we write all of our program to make use of the Advantage Database Server from SyBase when it becomes necessary to do so.

A database server is required when you have more than one or two computers sharing a database to protect you from data corruption or data conflicts.
